External Connection Options for the memoryX Radeon 9700 Pro

The DB-15 connector is used for standard output to an analog monitor.

This is a 7-pin S-video output connector, which is used to connect devices such as televisions and VCRs to the card for outputting the same image as the one being displayed on the monitor.
The DVI connector is typically used to connect digital flat-panel monitors. The memoryX Radeon 9700 Pro comes equipped with a DVI-I connector. With a special adapter, a DVI-I connector can also accommodate analog monitors.

Connector Details
The DB-15 connector
The most common means of attaching a display device to your video card will involve attaching an analog CRT monitor to the DB-15 connector.

The 7-pin S-video Output
An increasingly popular video option is to use the 7-pin S-video output on the video card to send video from your computer to your television by means of an S-video cable. For this to work, your television must have an S-video input.
S-Video to RCA converter
If your television does not support S-video, it may have a composite video input which uses a standard RCA connector. In that case, you can use an S-video to RCA converter to connect your television to your computer, though at a lower display quality than you would get with a pure S-video connection.

The DVI connector

DVI-I output DVI connectors are typically used to connect digital flat-panel monitors to your computer. memoryX's Radeon 9700 Pro can accommodate more than one monitor on a single video card. Because the 9700 Pro comes equipped with a DVI-I connector, it can use a special adapter to accommodate two analog monitors, one on the DB-15 connector and one via the special adapter to the DVI-I connector.
DVI-I to VGA Adapter
The DVI-I to VGA adapter allows you to attach a second analog monitor to your video card. Simply plug the cable from your analog monitor into one end of the adapter, then plug the other end of the adapter into the DVI-I connector on the back of your video card.
